After things have quieted down following the events of Game ON, Ozzie has settled into the world of Private Investigating, tracking down cheating husbands and dealing with the devastated wives. All whilst being a new father to Mackenzie and still trying to decide if he can reconcile with his estranged wife Nicole, he still doesn’t think he will go back to being a lawyer so is at least giving the whole PI business a whirl.

When Rosie Alvarado enters his office it is just like any other case, or is it? Ozzie seems to have been caught under Rosie’s spell and is besotted with her for want of a better word, but that allows his sense of judgement to be clouded and not see the bigger picture. Not only is he taken by Rosie, but he is also still married to Nicole, who he still deciding on whether or not to reconcile after the events of ON Edge.

This one wasn’t as action packed as the previous, but I have to come learn that in the series there is at least one slightly more mellow book which leads you into a false sense of security as usually it is followed up by some insane roller-coaster of a ride.

ON the Rocks was yet another great book from Mefford, and I am really loving Ozzie with his humour and internal dialog, the scams that he and Detective Brooke uncover involving Rosie, I didn’t see coming until it was right on top of me.
