Clowders by Vanessa Morgan
I loved this book! For me it was a great wee horror/suspense story that kept me reading into the wee small hours. The quaint little town of Clervaux is more than meets the eye, filled with cats that everyone worships and dotes on, and god forbid any of the cats should die!
Clervaux is steeped in superstition surrounding the cats, and it is said that for each cat that dies nine human live need to be taken. When Aiden moves with his wife and daughter to Clevaux they soon discover the strangeness that surrounds the town and they soon discover that following the death of a cat at the hands of Aiden’s wife, people start to go missing until nine lives have been taken.
The atmosphere that Ms Morgan conjures up throughout the book gets darker the longer the family stay in the town, this idyllic little town soon becomes their worst nightmare as they become hunted by cats, humans and creatures alike until their debt is paid.
A great story that will suck you in!
